Production Blog: Getting Things Done Behind The Camera

Image
So, on the first filming day I was able to get most of the scenes for my music video done. The first day of filming was much easier than the last time is started the filming process. I was able to get most of the scenes completed with some hick ups in between but overall, it was a fun experience.  Seeing as it was only my second time really filming something like this. I spent the rest of the time that I had left over for that day thinking about how I was going to improve the quality for the second half of the filming process. Having adapted to recording on my phone this time around the quality of the scenes was pretty good in my opinion.  At first, though the videos were kind of dark because it was about to rain, and I was trying to get some of the scenes done before that happened. So, I hit the record but and let the acting commence and see how the clips would come out. Once I figured out exactly how to adjust the lighting so that the scene portrayed the image that I wanted but still

PROPS The props that I will be using for the music video are cell phones.  COSTUMES There will be a variety of costumes used for different scenes of the music video. The first couple of scenes and the last scene will introduce a casual outfit to go with the setting. Then getting into the later scenes the actors will be in pajamas as the second scene will take place in a more secluded space. SCHEDULE 11/16- Plan out the codes and conventions for the music video to make sure everything runs smoothly. This includes the safety precautions, filming locations, costumes, and the backup plan. 11/19- Start storyboarding how I want scenes of the music video to go during the production phase. 11/28- Purchase props for the music video so I can start mapping out a physical version of the music video.  11/29- Start during practice runs to make sure everything looks good on camera before the first day of filming begins. 11/30-12/4 Start filming the music video using the planned out storyboard. 12/5

Research Blog- The Culture of Music

Today I will be analyzing the key components of a successful music video and taking notes. Whether it be different camera angles that follow an artist as they perform their song. Or little sound bites that go along with the story being presented by the music video.   Music videos often have a story that go along with the lyrics of the story so that it is easy to follow. Music videos include different filming locations to provide a change in scenery and emotion depending on the song. Depending on the type of music the video is accompanying there are props available to the actors There are at least two to three wardrobe changes throughout a music video. Depending on the setting for example if a scene takes place a skating ring actors will be wearing casual wear. Editing for a music video is very detailed there are a lot of different effects incorporated to improve the quality of the music video. Transitions are the most focused on part of a music video and often include bright colors our

I will be working on this project by myself everything from the planning the sky boarding and editing. I decided to work alone to avoid head butting ideas with other people. I also choose to work alone for the first filming  assignment to see how well I understand the filming terms and how to put them to use as the course progresses. This would be the perfect assignment for me to test my skills and how they have improved from the first project.Working by myself allows me to fully indulge myself in the project and really have fun with it while I'm producing it.   I can speak from experience and say that I perform my best when I am working by myself. So I came to the executive decision to work alone until I hopefully am able to find a group of people I work good with. For now though I already have an idea of what  I am going to do my music video on. While working on this project by myself may prove difficult because of the amount of work that must be completed for the proj

It’s still Desmond or Dez here checking in for the next step in my media learning process. I am taking AICE Media because I find the different components of filming interesting and maybe one day like to incorporate them into my own film. AICE Media also caught my attention because it is a class that allows you to use are your creative ideas and express yourself though drawings and short clips. I am a very imaginative person that always thinks of little neat characters that are out of the ordinary. It is my 12th grade at Fort Lauderdale High School and I participate on the track and field team.       I've been running track since I was 14 for an individual team that travels across the states to compete against other athletes. At first I wasn't very good at it and would always come in last in every event I participated in. After constantly losing I decided to start training deeply in track lifting weights from time to time and going on runs to help increase my endurance. The nex
