CCR: Music Video Reflection

Creative Critical Reflection 1. How does your product use or challenge conventions and how does it represent social groups or issues? My product incorporates different conventions of media to tell a story. The incorporation of different camera angles throughout the music video helped create emotion throughout the progression of the music video. For example there was a close up shot in the music video in which you could really see the frustration build in one of the actors faces as the story progressed. The product uses the setting to indulge the audience in the actors surroundings as they move around from scene to scene allowing them to get a grasp of time passage between two different scenes while also being a representation of how the characters are feeling at that moment in time. Finally the convention that played the biggest part sound, in the music video the non-diegetic sound which was layered over the acting giv

Music Video- The Final Product

This music video is probably something that I have devoted almost a months time to and I love every second of it. I spent almost and entire two days filming the scenes for this music video, because certain scenes had to be filmed at certain parts of the day. The editing process also took a long time to get done consuming at least 4 to 5 hours out of two days. While editing this music video I got stressed out multiple times wanting to quit and I even thought about throwing the whole idea out the window. Starting over from scratch because the scenes weren't fitting the music like I thought they would. Which is when I had to improvise and start to adjust the order in which the clips were placed so they matched up with the music. That was probably the only bad experience that I had but once I finished that up and was able to reflect on everything I was able to accomplish  I  and enjoyed myself. I've improved my editing and filming skills over the course of this project which show

Today was the final day of filming and it was probably the easiest task I have had throughout this whole production process.     I only had five scenes to edit together which was a small amount compared to the 8 that I had to edit during the first day. Starting off everything was smooth edits were fitting in flawlessly and the music was overlaying good as well. That when tragedy stuck near the end of the filming day, I was starting to make the same mistakes repeatedly and couldn't seem to figure out how to stop it from happening. Then I accidentally deleted one of my scenes trying to incorporate it into the music video. Between editing each seen in the music video to accidentally deleting a scene I was kind of stressed.     So, after a while since I couldn't figure out how to fix my problem, I went on YouTube to watch some funny videos to cool my head. Another issue I had while editing the scenes was that certain parts of the screen recording would get blurry while processing

Today was the first day of editing after the long filming process. The first step I did before fully starting the editing process was making sure that I got the best of every scene. Then I made sure that the editing software that I was going to use had all the contents I needed to create a good-looking music video. I knew I wouldn't have the time to finish it in one day, so I broke it down into two days. On the first day I would do scenes 1-7 because these were the scenes that had a lot of character movement and involved a lot of editing. On the second day I will edit scenes 8 through 12 because scene these scenes had little to no character movement so they would require much less editing to complete. Scene number 7 will be done on the first day because this is a moving shot transitioning into the first mid shot of the music video so I want to make sure everything flows correctly off this scene previous scenes so I know exactly how it will look up until scene 8. When I first sta

Today I filmed the middle potion of my music unlike the first day of filming I struggled to get good shots with relatively any errors. It was kind of cold than today, so I was shaking while trying to hold the camera for recoding. So, I took a little break from filming and drunk some hot chocolate to warm me up a little bit while I also eating a little treat.  After a while I got back to filming the scenes and the quality got a little bit better since I had warmed up. Until I finally got the shots where I was barely shaking, and everything ran smoothly from the acting to the lighting but that was only the first scene of the day. I took another brief break after getting the desired shot for scene number 6. This scene was the hardest of the bunch to film because I wanted to get a perfect transition from scene 6 to scene 7 so it is visually pleasing. For this scene I had to do a mid-shot of the actor on their bed performing and action.  This was the second mid-shot scene that I had to film
