Intro Blog

 

    Hi my name is Desmond but most people call me Dez which is a nickname that I got playing little league football. I am taking AICE Media because I find the different components of filming interesting and maybe one day like to incorporate them into my own film. AICE Media also caught my attention because it is a class that allows you to use are your creative ideas and express yourself though drawings and short clips. I am a very imaginative person that always thinks of little neat characters that are out of the ordinary. It is my 12th grade at Fort Lauderdale High School and I participate on the track and field team.


     I've been running track since I was 14 for an individual team that travels across the states to compete against other athletes. At first I wasn't very good at it and would always come in last in every event I participated in. After constantly losing I decided to start training deeply in track lifting weights from time to time and going on runs to help increase my endurance. The next year that I participated in track I started to win some medals from time to time and continued to get faster and faster. While I was starting to win on that level of track and field when I joined the track team my sophomore year I had to start from square one. 

    Unfortunately the track season got cancelled because of Covid so I got back to training on my own until my 11th grade year I was able to participate again. During my 11th grade track season I was able to make it to state championships and win 3rd place in the 4x400m. I also played baseball when I younger I was really good at it and could hit on either my right or left side. Outside of track and baseball I am a very avid gamer and think that I am pretty good at all the video games that I play. I even thought about becoming a pro gamer while I was in college. Now I want to pursue a major in business and analytics so that I now the ins and outs of having a business. If everything goes to plan one day I will create my own business and hopefully its successful and I earn millions of dollars so I can provide for my family. 

    My favorite foods to eat are any type of pasta and French fries which isn't very healthy. My favorite colors are green, red and blue each having a significant reasoning. Green is my favorite color because it typically represents life and the aspects of life peak my interest like what are the limitations that the human race can reach. Blue is one of my favorite colors because the sky is blue and spans on forever on Earth so I use it as a symbol of the possibilities being endless on what I and those who are motivated to achieve something can do. I choose red as one of my favorite colors because it is a very dull but vibrant color which I feel describes me as a person. My favorite number is 8 because I feel like it is my lucky number because I always have my best performances in a sport wearing number 8.

Well that's all about me so I'm going to leave it there and continue being well me.

  PROPS The props that I will be using for the music video are cell phones.  COSTUMES There will be a variety of costumes used for different scenes of the music video. The first couple of scenes and the last scene will introduce a casual outfit to go with the setting. Then getting into the later scenes the actors will be in pajamas as the second scene will take place in a more secluded space. SCHEDULE 11/16- Plan out the codes and conventions for the music video to make sure everything runs smoothly. Genre Research: Horror

  Horror films are designed to scare the audience and inflict certain emotions into them. The different aspects when it comes filming and editing horror has been investigated. To see what really goes into making a horror film pop out at an audience. For starters, the common lighting used in horror films is low lighting. It creates a mysterious mood that builds tension, stress, and fear. So that the audience will stay on their toes never knowing when something will pop out to scare them. Frequently used camera shots includes close-up shots, over-the-shoulder shots, low angle shots, high angle shots, and canted angle shots. These draw the audience's attention and contributes to their thoughts on the context of the storyline. THE FINAL TASK

 This final is something that I have spent a lot of time making sure that it was perfect. I spent almost five days filming the scenes for the final task, because I wanted every scene to be done with maximum effort. The editing process also took a long time to get done consuming at least 4 to 5 hours out of two days. While editing this final task I got stressed out but I kept going because I knew it would be worth all of the hard work. Sometime even requiring me to take a step back to avoid overworking myself and becoming too stressed. I had to improvise at one point and start to adjust the order in which the clips were placed so they matched up with the music. That was probably the only bad experience that I had but once I finished that up and was able to reflect on everything I was able to accomplish  I  and enjoyed myself.
