Editing Blog: Commercial

Today was the final day of filming and it was probably the toughest thing I've had to do throughout this whole process. I only had to more scenes to edit together but it just felt impossible to get them where I wanted to be. I was making the same mistakes over and over again and couldn't seem to figure out how to stop it from happening. There was a brief blank screen in between each seen which made the commercial hard to follow so I had to take my time and try to figure it out. After a while since I couldn't figure out how to fix my problem I went on YouTube a found out how to do resolve the issue. This helped me a lot but this was only one of the issues I had with editing the first of two scenes that I had to do. The other issue I had while editing the first scene was that certain parts of the shot would get really blurry while processing in the editing software. So I had to figure out a way to bypass the blurriness that would occur when importing the scene. It took me some time to figure out a way to fix this issue without having to refill the scene as a whole. Then that when it hit me that there was a way to edit videos in the gallery before they were inputted into the editing software.

So what I did to resolve the issue was go to my my gallery and adjust the sharpening and coloration of the video so that it would be easier for the video to render in the software. Now it was on to the second and final scene that I had to edit for the commercial. This scene was relatively easy to edit but I had to compile a few things in order to produce it. The first thing that I needed for the final scene was the gatorade logo which wasn't hard to find because it is all over google. The second thing that I needed was a catchy phrase that would go under the gatorade symbol to catch viewer attention. There were many phrases to choose from throughout all of the gatorade commercials but I found that one that really suited the message that I wanted to get across with my commercial. Now that I had the two things that I needed for the final scene I pasted them onto a black backdrop and edited in with the rest of the clips that I hard already had. Before I wrapped up everything for the final day of editing I made sure that there were no more issues in the first scene and everything had been fixed. After that I watched the whole commercial to see if it was up to the standard that I wanted it to be and it very much was. Actual it exceeded my expectations because I didn't think that I would be able to edit this number of clips together especially with the issues I ran into in this amount of time but in the end. Now I can't wait to edit more clips for other projects as the school year progresses maybe even in my free time.
