Final Task: Group Blog

 

Much like the other projects for this course I will be working going at it alone to truly test my skills . I decided to work alone to avoid head butting ideas with other people. I also choose to work alone for the first filming assignment to see how well I understand the filming terms and how to put them to use as the course progresses. This final task would allow me to apply all my knowledge from over the year and put it all on to the table. For me to test my skills and see how they have improved from the first project really means a lot to me because it shows me that I can do anything that I can put my mind too.Working by myself also allows me to fully indulge myself in the project and really have fun with it while I'm producing it.

  I can speak from experience and say that I perform my best when I am working by myself. For now though I already composing ideas for what I want the final project to be about and look out. While working on this project by myself may prove difficult because of the amount of work that must be completed for the project but I believe that I can do it. I am willing to devote how much ever time it takes to get this project done even though it may take endless hours. I'm willing to go through that because in the end receiving the desired outcome for my music video with everything from the edits and the visuals worth it. 


With this project I am going to go outside of the box creating something unlike the previous projects I've made for this course. Sketching out the ideas will prove difficult because I think I'm going to come up with  a bunch of ideas before finalizing them on a storyboard maybe even scraping some. To determine how I want the final task to start and finish and how I want to engage the audience from the start. Where I will be filming my final task and how I want the lighting to be displayed will be highly stressed because I want it to be as good as possible. What edits to include into the clips gathered from filming the music video. Which I complete without a contrasting opinion of how it should filmed, edited, etc. 


The main reason that I decided to work on this project alone though is because I am still an anti-social person. I find it difficult to make friends with new people because I am scared that they won't like me and judge me for who I am. So the only time that I will be using another person during this project is to help me film. There will be other people in the project besides myself but they are not in my group. With that said it will just be me and hopefully I live up to the standard I'm setting for myself.

  PROPS The props that I will be using for the music video are cell phones.  COSTUMES There will be a variety of costumes used for different scenes of the music video. The first couple of scenes and the last scene will introduce a casual outfit to go with the setting. Then getting into the later scenes the actors will be in pajamas as the second scene will take place in a more secluded space. SCHEDULE 11/16- Plan out the codes and conventions for the music video to make sure everything runs smoothly. Genre Research: Horror

  Horror films are designed to scare the audience and inflict certain emotions into them. The different aspects when it comes filming and editing horror has been investigated. To see what really goes into making a horror film pop out at an audience. For starters, the common lighting used in horror films is low lighting. It creates a mysterious mood that builds tension, stress, and fear. So that the audience will stay on their toes never knowing when something will pop out to scare them. Frequently used camera shots includes close-up shots, over-the-shoulder shots, low angle shots, high angle shots, and canted angle shots. These draw the audience's attention and contributes to their thoughts on the context of the storyline. THE FINAL TASK

 This final is something that I have spent a lot of time making sure that it was perfect. I spent almost five days filming the scenes for the final task, because I wanted every scene to be done with maximum effort. The editing process also took a long time to get done consuming at least 4 to 5 hours out of two days. While editing this final task I got stressed out but I kept going because I knew it would be worth all of the hard work. Sometime even requiring me to take a step back to avoid overworking myself and becoming too stressed. I had to improvise at one point and start to adjust the order in which the clips were placed so they matched up with the music. That was probably the only bad experience that I had but once I finished that up and was able to reflect on everything I was able to accomplish  I  and enjoyed myself.
