AICE Media Studies

  So on the first filming day I was able to get most of the scenes for my commercial done. Eventually I came to back inside to start piecing the recorded pieces together.  The following day I will continue recoding after I have pieces together the scenes gathered so far.  Seeing as I was tired  from filming in the blazing hot sun for so long. I spent most of the day putting the scene together and getting the desired shots. It was a struggle trying to find out how to work out how to use the camera at first. I wasn’t really used to recording things on my phone because I usually just take pictures. At first I was just acting out the scenes before we turned the cameras on to film. Once I figured out exactly how I was going to act it out we started filming. It took a few takes because the lighting wasn’t really reflecting well in the camera.  WELCOME TO MY STORYBOARD!!! SCENE 1- During the first scene the camera will be recording a moving shot of me. Once the camera starts recording I will begin running on the track while up tempo music is being played. The camera will then transition straight into scene two. SCENE 2- During scene two the camera will be recording a aerial shot. During this scene I will be doing jumping jacks on the track with the up tempo music continuing to play. After I've done like 3 jumping jacks I will bend over before scene 3 begins. SCENE 3 - In scene 3 the camera will be recording another mid shot. In this scene I will be doing push ups on the track working up the final bit of sweat. After I've done like 2 push ups I will get up and put my hands over my head.  SCENE 4 - In scene 4 the camera will be performing a close up shot.   Props The main and only prop that will be used during this commercial will be a gatorade bottle. Costumes  During the commercial I will be wearing athletic wear like gym shorts and a tang top. The gym shorts and tang top will have contrasting colors. The gym shorts will be a vibrant color that pops out to the audience while the shirt will be a darker color. The shoes I will also be wearing running shoes and or track spikes. Arm wear may be present to give off more of a sporty feel during the commercial. Schedule 9/29/21- Plan out the Codes and conventions for the sports drink commercial  9/30/21- Establish when the prop will be brought into play, how lighting will be used, determine a location for filming. 9/31/21- Draw out Storyboard for the 30 second commercial to get all ideas down and visualized. 10/1/21- Film the 30 second commercial and hopefully get the necessary shots. 10/3/21- Start editing the clips together to make everything mesh well together. 10/4/21-10/5/...

 I will be doing a Gatorade commercial. In almost all Gatorade commercial there is an athlete performing some type of sporting activity (Running, Playing Tennis, or Basketball). The costumes in Gatorade commercials often feature sporting gear like running shoes, shorts, sports bra's, or compression shirts. The sound used in Gatorade commercials is often an upbeat soundtrack to get the audience pumped and interested in the commercial. Most gatorade commercial use tracking shots that follow the athlete as they workout and work up a sweat. They also often feature close up shots of an athlete drinking Gatorade before the camera cuts. The actors in Gatorade commercials are often superstar athletes who are dripping with sweat and with the lighting adding a glow effect to their skin while they are working out.            I will be working on this project by myself everything from the planning the sky boarding and editing. I decided to work alone to avoid head butting ideas with other people. I also choose to work alone for the first filming  assignment to see how well I understand the filming terms and how to put them to use as the course progresses. This would be the perfect assignment for me to test my skills and how they have improved from the first project.Working by myself allows me to fully indulge myself in the project and really have fun with it while I'm producing it.   I can speak from experience and say that I perform my best when I am working by myself. So I came to the executive decision to work alone until I hopefully am able to find a group of people I work good with.       Hi my name is Desmond but most people call me Dez which is a nickname that I got playing little league football. I am taking AICE Media because I find the different components of filming interesting and maybe one day like to incorporate them into my own film. AICE Media also caught my attention because it is a class that allows you to use are your creative ideas and express yourself though drawings and short clips. I am a very imaginative person that always thinks of little neat characters that are out of the ordinary.
