THE FINAL TASK

Image
This final is something that I have spent a lot of time making sure that it was perfect. I spent almost five days filming the scenes for the final task, because I wanted every scene to be done with maximum effort. The editing process also took a long time to get done consuming at least 4 to 5 hours out of two days. While editing this final task I got stressed out but I kept going because I knew it would be worth all of the hard work. Sometime even requiring me to take a step back to avoid overworking myself and becoming too stressed. I had to improvise at one point and start to adjust the order in which the clips were placed so they matched up with the music. That was probably the only bad experience that I had but once I finished that up and was able to reflect on everything I was able to accomplish  I  and enjoyed myself. I've improved my editing and filming skills over the course of this project which shows in the final product. I even had a little fun with it and took some of

Today I didn't really have anything to film or edit so I decided to come up with an alternative. I decided to let my family members do another review of the opening sequence. This time around the reactions were more positive than anything which really surprised me. They pointed out the adjustments that I made to prior things that they saw as an issue in the opening sequence. Which included the things like the lighting in certain scenes and the blurriness of character faces. They even said that for someone who just started filming things like music videos and opening sequence it actually looked pretty good. Noting the progress that I made from the commercial up until the opening sequence. Even though I have had a lot of fun filming these different things I think that I am going to take a break from the film industry. It may be fun but it is very time consuming and sometimes very stressful to get through especially when you can't figure out how to do something as simple as add t

So over the weekend I decided to watch over the opening sequence for one of the last times before it was time to submit it. To make sure that I addressed any issues that were present within the opening sequence. I did this because I wanted to be on the safe side of things and avoid submitting something that isn't a good reputation of all the hard work that I have put into the project. The first thing that I did was made sure that every single clip rendered in properly so there wouldn't be any blurry visuals present from start to finish. In which I found that all the scenes had rendered into the editing software properly and flowed into the next scene how I envisioned. The next thing that I did was make sure that all of the title sequences were in the proper order, because the order of titles is a big deal within the film world. Which I am glad I did, because I accidentally added who the film was directed by before who helped create the story and produced the film. The adjustmen

Production Blog: Soundtrack

Image
Today I decided to search for a soundtrack that would fit my opening sequence before I finish it up. I want something that is kind of dark and sets the tone for the rest of the film and gets the audience involved. The first place that I searched for a soundtrack for the opening sequence was YouTube. I knew I would be able to find something that would add to my opening sequence. While I was searching I found a lot of soundtracks that I would like to use. The soundtracks that I found really captured that dark/ eerie feeling that I wanted to contribute to my opening sequence. I was stuck between three soundtracks that I felt were the best for my opening sequence in particular. The downside to this though was that I was having trouble selecting which one I wanted to choose. So I had to come up with a way to help me select which one I was going to use in the end. The method that I decided to use was allowing my family members to watch the opening sequence while listening to each soundtrack

Today I let a few of my family members give their opinions about the opening sequence that I put together.  Overall there was some positive things said and some negative things said that I need to work on before turning it in. The main critiques that I received was that the lighting in some of the scenes was a little to dim. Which made it hard to see what was going on within the film world. Another critique that was given to me was that at certain points in the opening sequence there was to much of a pause between scenes. I wrote all those critiques down so that I knew what I had to work on before submitting it.  The first thing I did was work on the lighting of the scenes that were to dim and weren't visually appealing. There was at least 7 or 8 scenes that were pointed out to me that had low lighting which really isn't that many seeing as the opening sequence is 30 scenes long. Once I was able to identify the scenes that were lacking light I adjusted the lighting so that the

Production Blog: The Final Day of Editing

Today was the final day of filming and it was probably the easiest task I have had throughout this whole production process.  I only had twelve scenes left to edit for the final task before I was ready to let someone else view it and give their input. Starting off everything was smooth all the pieces were fitting together well, and the transitions were seamless. That when tragedy stuck near the end of the filming day, I was starting to make the same mistakes repeatedly and couldn't seem to figure out how to stop it from happening. Then I accidentally deleted two of my scenes trying to clip some of the unneeded footage out.  Between editing each seen in opening sequence to accidentally deleting a scene I was kind of stressed.  So, after a while since I couldn't figure out how to fix my problem, I went on YouTube to watch some funny videos to cool my head. Another issue I had while editing the scenes was that certain parts of the screen recording would get blurry while process
